Volunteer work in Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina: Other projects
Volunteer work - Projects: Hospital Público Ramón Carrillo
Furthermore, it is possible to work at the public hospital in Bariloche. If you are a doctor, a nurse, or another medically trained professional or studying for that, you can work at the hospital assisting the medical staff, for example help out with the medical consults and take part in discussing how to treat patients.
But if you don’t have a medical background, you can also work at the hospital. There is a group of Argentinean volunteers that do many things as feeding the patients, reading to the kids that are waiting for the doctor, workshops for mums that have their babies at the hospital etc. You could join the team, always supervised and in contact with Spanish speaking people!
Volunteer work - Projects: Steppe Market
This market gathers the small producers of the linea sur (one of the most remote areas in Patagonia). Before the opening of the market, people couldn’t sell what they made because they live in remote places were the access to town is difficult and expensive. They had to trade their goods for wood or basic needs. Now they work through values such as fare price, solidarity and community.
We’ve had volunteers helping in many ways: doing translations of brochures, carpentry jobs, marketing, gardening etc.
Volunteer work - Projects: More possibilities
There are more possibilities of volunteer work as visiting “hogares de ancianos”, been part of a football club for kids that come from low income families and others. The idea is that you let us know what you are willing to do and according to your skills and interests we find the best job for you!
