Getting here, getting to Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina
The majority of our students fly into Buenos Aires or Santiago de Chile, on their way to our school in Bariloche. The following alternatives will help you travel from one of these destinations to our school.
From Buenos Aires:
By Plane
Bariloche is located 1.650 Km South West from Buenos Aires, and represents
a 2:15 Hrs non-stop flight. 3 airlines fly this route daily (Aerolineas
Argentinas, LAN Argentina and LADE).
Keep in mind, that if you are traveling directly through Buenos Aires,
1 hour is needed to travel from Ezeiza airport (International), to Aeroparque
airport (Domestic).
The airport of Bariloche is only 15 kilometers away from the center of town. Request for airport pick-up if you arrive by flight.
By Bus
Argentina enjoys an excellent bus service, and to travel to Bariloche by bus is no exception.
20 hours in comfortable coaches that go from standard to sleepers. Meals are served on board and all buses have toilets.
Films are shown during the trip. Several bus companies cover this route daily, like Via Bariloche, Andesmar, El Valle and TAC.
From Santiago de Chile:
By Plane
There are direct flight available on Thursday and Sunday, taking about 2 ½ hours. If you want to travel another day, there are daily flights to Osorno, the Chilean city closest to us on the other side of the Andes, about 1000 kilometers south from Santiago de Chili.
2 airlines fly this 2 hours flight daily (LanChile and Lanexpress). Once in Osorno, you must get across the Andes by bus to Bariloche. Various companies cover this route every day and take about 6 hours to do so, leaving every morning between 8 and 10 A.M.
By Bus
Comfortable buses from standard to sleeper with meals on board and toilette service, leave Santiago between 19 and 19:30 every day and arrive in Osorno before 9 AM, allowing the passenger to catch the combination buses across the Andes to Bariloche that same day, as mentioned above.
From Other Cities:
Several bus companies provide direct connection from and to Bariloche with cities such as Mendoza (17hrs), Cordoba (15hrs), Puerto Madryn (12hrs), San Martin de Los Andes (2,5hrs) El Bolsón (2hrs) and Villa La Angostura (1hr).
From El Calafate it`s an indirect bus connection that takes about 40 hrs.
An option for this trip is a beautiful 4 days Safari tour, or a direct flight from El Calafate to Bariloche (daily available).
From Puerto Montt you can also do the very interesting Lake Crossing, choosing the one or two day tour.
