Tours Around Bariloche: Cerro Catedral

This tour is a half day tour, roundtrip 48 km and you can do it by car or by bus. The name of this mountain comes from the special shape of its highest peaks that resemble the towers of a gothic cathedral. In the winter it´s one of the most important ski resort in South America, where many international ski competitions take place every winter season. The ski season starts in July and goes on to the end of September. It is a place worthwhile visiting all year round, and there you can take on of the chair lifts or the cable car to reach the summit of the mountain to appreciate a breathtaking view of the Andes.

Tours Around Bariloche: Cerro Otto Cable Car

These modern cable cars, aquipped with panoramic windows, have their base just 5km outside Bariloche. After 12 minutes ride up to almost 1400 m, you arrive to the top of Cerro Otto. There is a revolving restaurant buildingfrom where you can take short walks through the forest, or just enjoy the splendid view of the town and its surroundigns.

Tours Around Bariloche: "Circuito Chico" - Short Circuit

This tour is a half day tour, roundtrip 65 km and you can do it by car or by bus. This pleasant drive starts in Bariloche and goes west along the southern shore of the Nahuel Huapi Lake. After 8 km you arrive at Playa Bonita where you have a wide view of Huemul Island. Cerro Campanario is 18 km away from town. There you can take a chair-lift to the summit to overlook lakes Nahuel Huapi and Moreno, Victioria Island, Llao Llao Hotel, San Pedro Peninsula, El Trebol lagoon and mountains such as Millaqueo, Lopez, Capilla, Goye, Bella Vista, Catedral and Otto. The drive continues trough a dense forest of coihues that is considered a municipal protected area, and where you can hike on clearly marked trails. After going over the bridge that crosses the stream that joins the Moreno with the Nahuel Huapi Lke, the road follows the southern shore of Lake Moreno passing by Mount Lopez and "Punto Panoramico" (a scenic viewpoint). You cross the bridge over the narrowest point of Lake Moreno, then you border El Trebol lagoon and then you will return to the city.

Tours Around Bariloche: Mount "Tronador" and "Los Alerces" Waterfall

This tour is a whole day tour, roundtrip 215 km and you can do it by car or by bus. Driving southwards from Bariloche on National Roue 258 following the coast of the Gutierrez lake across the Pilmayquen and Melgarejo streams, you border Lake Mascardi and then you will find the gravel road to Tronador. To visit Los Alerces waterfall you carry on by the dirt road without crossing the bridge across the Manso River. After crossing Roca River you arrive to the end of the road. From here you hike 300 m up to the lookout of the waterfalls. To go to Tronador you drive back to cross the bridge across the Manso River. You carry on and drive up until you get to the Black Glacier (known as "Ventisquero Negro"). A little further on the road ends at the base of Tronador, the highest mountain in the area that has three peaks: Argentinian, Chiliean and International (3 554 m).

Tours Around Bariloche: Mount "Tronador" by Lake Mascardi

This is a whole day tour, by boat and bus. This trip goes from Bariloche by bus to the south. At Puerto Mascardi you board the motorboat starting a wonderful sail along Lake Mascardi, known as the Seven Colours Lake, surrounded by a spectacular view of mountains Cresta de Gallo, Bonete and NEgro. The sailing ends at Tronador Hotel port wher you ake the bus that drives you to the bse of Tronador Mount, visiting first the Black Glacier, one of its eight glaciers and the most special of them all. At the end of the road, you stop and hike up to view the Garganta del Diablo (Dveil´s throat) Waterfall, returning afterwards to Bariloche by the same road.

This is a whole day tour which you can do by car or by bus. This tour goes south along National Route 258 bordering Lakes Mascardi and Guillelmo. Carrying on through Pampa del Toro, Cañadón de la Mosca and El Foyel, this daylong tour arrives at El Bolson, a beautiful valley appropriate for agriculture. Going trough small farms of cherry, ,rspberry and red currant, apples and hops, one arrives at the splendid turquoise Puelo Lake.

Tours Around Bariloche: Port Blest, "Los Cantaros" Waterfall and Lake Frías

This is a whole day tour you can do by boat. This lake tour consists on sailing westwards on Lake Nahuel Huapi trough the Blest arm of the lake towards its end at Puerto Blest. During this trip you can admire special views like the one of Centinela Island (th place where Fransisco P Moreno, ,the father of the Argentinean National Pars was burried). As you arrive at Puerto Blest, in the center of the valdivian rain forest, you start a bus drive to Lake Frías, where you sail to the last argentine port of the "lake crossing" to Chili: Port Frías. Later the catamaran crosses the lake to visit "Los Cantaros" waterfall, where you can walk up about 720 steps alongside the falls to get to "Los Cantaros" Lake.

Tours Around Bariloche: Victoria Island and Arrayanes Forest

This is a whole or half day tour by boat. This tour on the Nahuel Huapi Lake starts at Pañuelo Port in Llao Llao. The trip begins sailing to Peninsula Quetrihué where the famous Arrayanes Forest is located. It is unique for its special cinnamon colored trees. The sailing continues giving to you the possibility of enjoying gorgeous views of the Andes and of the Lake and some of its islands. Then you visit Victoria Island, the biggest in the lake, arriving to Anchorena Port. There, you can have some outstanding views of the island, having the option of climbing to the viewpoint of the Bella Vista Mountain by its modern chair lift. Finally you start a guided walk trough a forest of natural and exotic species. At the end of this walk, you sail back to Bariloche.

Tours Around Bariloche: San Martin de los Andes by The Seven Lakes

This is a whole day or two days trip by car or by bus, roundtrip 396 km. From Bariloche to the northern area of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, driving to Villa La Angostura, a beautiful town next to the Chilean Border. From there you connect the Seven Lake Circuit, a road of 112 km, that goes to San Martin de los Andes, passing by many lakes as: Correntoso, Espejo, Villarino, Falkner and Hermoso. At the end you get to this beautiful town, places besides Lacar Lake. You return by the road of Paso Cordoba, bordering Lake Meliquina that joins the National Route 237 to Bariloche. From this road you will appreciate strange images created by eolic and water erosion on the rocky formations of the Enchanted Valley and then the Amphitheater, which is a special place erosioned by the waters of Limay River, thousands of years ago.
